Do I Need Probate ? whether you need probate typically depends upon the size of the Deceased persons assets and liabilities. If assets exceed £15,000, then a Grant of probate will need to be obtained, other cases when probate will be required are as follows :-
- to claim monies under a life insurance or under a death benefit policy
- to sell or transfer shares
- to sell a property owned by a deceased
- to sell personal possessions owned by a Deceased such as a car
